cochineal & roses vintage slip

60.00

Vintage Slip, material- nylon, no tag but fits size 4-6 frames

I bundle dyed this slip with madder root, peony, rose lavender, annatto seeds, cabbage, marigold, iron salts and alkanet root. After bundle dyeing, I immersed the slip in a cochineal and dried rose bath and then hand washed it with rose soap.

Cochineal is an insect dye. The insects colonize prickly pear, which is the cactus (nopal) native to Mexico, South and Central America and the Canary Islands. Cochineal creates colors ranging from purple, pinks, reds and fuchsias.

Each naturally dyed piece is made with love, care and the intention of connecting oneself to the present moment. I spend many hours brewing and bundling these pieces, and I hope that the calmness and joy I experience in making them transfers to you.

Care: Hand wash gently in cold water with a PH neutral soap, hang dry.
